I’ve been working with Friends of Fertility Care/Philadelphia, which provides professional counseling on morally respectful reproductive technology, to develop a logo for their services. They perform a number of fertility monitoring services for people in a range of ages and relationships, and they wanted an image that encompassed many aspects of their mission.
I first drew several rough ideas using the idea of seeds and fertility. Some preliminary sketches:
With the importance of the family unit in their counseling, they asked that an image representing the family be included. Some further ideas:
There are many doctors and nurses working in the FFC system, so the group also requested images reflecting the medical professionals in their organization. To cover all these aspects of the group plus other suggestions, I decided to try a combination logo, with various elements representing family, health, medical records and care, and created this image, which was overwhelmingly approved by the committee.
