To help educate artists in the business side of illustration, the Bucks County Illustrators Society, which I co-founded, has invited Ken Carraway of Carraway Law in West Chester to speak on “Artists Rights Issues in the Visual Arts.” The presentation will take place on Tuesday April 9, at 7:00 pm in Paxson Hall at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 84 E. Oakland Avenue, Doylestown, PA 18901. Admission to the talk is $10, for students with ID $5.
Carraway Law focuses on Business and Arts Law and Mr. Carraway will give an overview of important concepts and take questions from the audience. Some topics that will be included are licensing art, derivative works, copyrights and trademarks, copyright infringement, legal recourses for disputes, contracts, exclusive and non-exclusive rights and internet rights. Please see http://www.buckscountyillustrators.webs.com to reserve a seat. Payment is at the door. For information on Carraway Law visit http://www.kencarraway.com.
The Bucks County Illustrators Society promotes the art and business of illustration, and is a wonderful group of supportive creative people that I’m so happy to know!
